About Us

Who Am I

In the 7th grade, I took a woodworking class in school.  I honestly can’t recall much from that class, nor what I made. But little did I know that God was using that class to produce what would become a passion with a purpose.  In high school, I made speaker boxes and a box for a radio that I installed in a 1965 Chevy Caprice, a family car that had been passed down for me to drive. My freshman year in college, we had wooden lofts for our beds in the dorm rooms.  My junior year I moved off campus, so I cut the loft down and used the wood to build speaker stands, a TV stand, and a bookshelf. Ingenuity arose from opportunity and a limited budget! Later on, after I was married, I used to watch a show called The New Yankee Workshop with Norm Abram.  I would always tell my wife, “Norm said I need to buy this tool, or that tool”.  The first year of our marriage, I made a coffee table and a stand to hold a fish tank. I began making anniversary, birthday, and Christmas gifts for my wife out of wood and it has become one of our traditions to surprise her with something I design and make from wood.

Several years ago, a tree fell in the backyard of my childhood home, and I salvaged the wood to make Christmas ornaments that I gave to family members as an heirloom. Later, I started making items on commission for friends and even a local church. I was able to use the profits from those sales to buy better wood working equipment. Some of those sales even helped us survive a period of unemployment in my engineering career.  Woodworking seemed destined to become a part of me, although I didn’t understand as a young boy exactly how God was going to weave my early woodworking experiences into the tapestry of my life. I also couldn’t have imagined how he would grow that talent over time and ultimately use it to help others. As I look forward to the future, I am able to now clearly see the life-long process of God bringing these experiences together for a single, unified purpose. I am reminded of Romans 8:28 “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” My prayer is that God will use my talents and this business for His Glory.
